Kitaa Terms of Service
These Terms of Service are the agreement between you and Kitaa for using the Kitaa app for Android and the website kitaa.app. Please read them together with our Community Guidelines and Privacy Policy.
On this page
1. Agreeing to these terms
The sign-in screen of the Kitaa app says that by continuing you agree to our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy, and links to both. By tapping Continue with Google, you agree to these Terms, including the Community Guidelines and Child Safety Standards that form part of them, and to our Privacy Policy. We record the version you agreed to and when. If you do not agree, do not sign in or use Kitaa.
Everything you do or share on Kitaa is covered by these Terms and the Community Guidelines: chat messages, rooms you open, video and audio in calls and rooms, gifts and your profile.
2. Who can use Kitaa
- You must be at least 18 years old to use Kitaa.
- If you are in Thailand, you must be at least 20 years old to use Kitaa.
- You sign in with a Google account. Keep your Google account secure: anyone who can sign in to it can use your Kitaa account.
- One person, one account. You may not share, sell, transfer or lend your account, or use someone else’s.
- You may not use Kitaa if we have banned you.
3. What Kitaa offers
Kitaa lets you make paid one-to-one video calls with hosts, watch video rooms, talk in 8-seat voice rooms, send gifts, follow hosts and block other users.
Hosts are users we have given host status. Only hosts can receive paid calls and open rooms. Hosts must follow these Terms, the Community Guidelines and the extra rules for hosts.
Hosts decide when they are online. We cannot promise that a particular host will be available or will answer a call.
We may change, add or remove features of Kitaa over time.
4. Coins
- Coins are Kitaa’s in-app currency. You can buy them only through Google Play, in the Kitaa app.
- The price is the one Google Play shows in your local currency when you buy. During promotions some coin packs include bonus coins; the app shows how many coins you will get before you pay.
- Coins are added to your balance once Google Play confirms the payment and we have verified it with Google.
- Coins can only be used in Kitaa, to pay for calls and gifts. They cannot be transferred to another account, sold, or exchanged for cash or anything else.
- Coins do not expire while your account exists.
- Purchases are final. Coins are not refunded except where the law or Google Play’s refund policies require it. Refunds of Google Play purchases are requested from and handled by Google.
- If a purchase is refunded or reversed, we may remove the coins it added. If they have already been spent, your account may show an amount owed. An amount owed is taken from your next purchase, and you cannot start paid calls or send gifts while you owe coins.
- Coins we give you for free, for example as compensation, follow the same rules.
- When the deletion of your account takes effect, any coins left in it are cancelled without refund (see Deleting your account).
5. Paid video calls
- A call costs 10 coins per minute, whether the video is 480p or 720p. The app shows the price, your balance and how many minutes it covers before you call.
- Only hosts can be called. A call rings for up to 45 seconds.
- To start a call you need coins for at least one minute and no amount owed.
- Charging starts once the host answers and you are both connected. Each minute is charged at its start, and only connected time counts: we check every second that you are both connected and receiving each other, and time while either side is disconnected is not charged.
- If the connection drops, the call stays open for 60 seconds so either side can reconnect. If nobody reconnects in time, the call ends.
- The app warns you when your balance will not cover the next minute. When the next minute is due and you do not have enough coins, the call ends.
- Our server records decide what is charged. When in doubt we charge less, not more. If you think a charge is wrong, email [email protected].
6. Gifts
- You can send gifts to the host of a video room, to a host on a seat in a voice room, and to the host during a call. Each gift shows its price in coins before you send it.
- To send a gift you need enough coins for it and no amount owed.
- Sent gifts cannot be cancelled or refunded.
- When a host receives a gift, they receive host points equal to the gift’s price in coins.
7. Host points
- Hosts receive host points for each paid call minute and each gift they receive, equal to the coins the user spent.
- Host points are a record only. They are not money, have no cash value and currently cannot be withdrawn, exchanged or transferred.
- Any rules for paying hosts will be published separately in the future. Until then, host points give no right to any payment.
- When a host breaks these Terms or the Community Guidelines, we may deduct host points, including the points earned from the calls and gifts involved.
- When the deletion of a host’s account takes effect, their host points are cancelled.
8. Your conduct and content
You must follow the Community Guidelines, which form part of these Terms. In particular:
- No nudity, sexual content or sexual performances, including in paid calls and video rooms, and no exchanging gifts or coins for them.
- Nothing that sexually exploits or endangers children, including streaming or live-streaming online sexual abuse or exploitation of children (OSAEC) or child sexual abuse or exploitation material (CSAEM) in calls, video rooms, voice rooms or chat. Our Child Safety Standards form part of these Terms.
- No harassment, hate, threats or scams, and no asking for payment or contact outside Kitaa.
- Do not record, capture or share other people’s calls or streams without their consent.
- Do not use bots or modified versions of the app, and do not interfere with Kitaa’s systems.
- Do not break the law.
You are responsible for what you say and share. You keep the rights you have in your content, and you allow us to transmit, display and store it as needed to run Kitaa, review reports and comply with the law.
9. When rules are broken
If you break these Terms or the Community Guidelines, we may, with immediate effect: remove content, give you a warning, suspend or permanently ban your account, remove host status, and deduct host points. What we do depends on how serious the violation is and on the evidence we have.
Illegal activity may be punished under the law. We report offences that must be reported, such as child sexual exploitation, to the relevant authorities, and we cooperate with lawful requests from law enforcement.
10. Deleting your account
- You can ask to delete your account at any time, in the app (Me → Settings → Account → Delete account) or in the other ways on the Delete account page.
- You are signed out straight away and your account is hidden from other users. For 7 days you can cancel by signing in to the app again and confirming. Your coins and host points are then kept.
- After 7 days the account is closed. It can no longer be used, and any coins and host points left in it are cancelled without refund or compensation.
- Closing an account does not erase its data. We keep it, as explained in our Privacy Policy.
- If you later sign in with the same Google account, a new account is created. Nothing carries over from the closed account.
11. Complaints and appeals
If you have a complaint, including about a decision we made on your account or content, email [email protected]. We acknowledge complaints within 24 hours and resolve them within 7 days.
Users in India can reach our Grievance Officer at [email protected]. If you are not satisfied with the Grievance Officer’s decision, you can appeal to the Grievance Appellate Committee within 30 days of receiving it, at gac.gov.in.
All the ways to reach us are on the Contact us page.
12. Availability and liability
We work to keep Kitaa running, but we cannot promise that it will always be available or free of errors, for example during maintenance or network problems.
To the extent the law allows, Kitaa is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for what other users say or do. Nothing in these Terms limits rights you have under consumer protection laws that cannot be excluded by agreement.
13. Changes to these terms
When we change these Terms, we publish the new version on this page and update the dates at the top, which show when these Terms took effect and when they were last revised. The next time you open the app, it shows a notice with links to the new version. If you keep using Kitaa after that, you agree to the new version; when you close the notice, we record the version and the time. If you do not agree, stop using Kitaa and delete your account (see Deleting your account).
14. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Singapore. This does not take away any protection you have under the mandatory consumer protection laws of the country where you live.
15. Language
These Terms are available in English, Bahasa Indonesia, Bahasa Melayu and Thai with the same content. If the versions differ, the English version prevails.
16. Contact
- [email protected]: questions about these Terms, coins, calls and your account.
